Gentlemen,
I have the honour to inform you that in consequence of instructions received from the Secretary of State for the Colonies, and communication held with His Excellency the Rear Admiral, Commanding in Chief, the ground beyond West Point, formerly in the possession of the Military Department, has been resumed by this Government, and is now placed under the charge of the Surveyor-General.
